Hi everyone,
I'm not the person to ask for financial help, but I think I really need to do this at this point.
My family has been going through a financial rough patch for the past few months. During the summer, there were three people contributing money into the household. However, I ended my medical leave and came back to school. So there was one person less.
Then, my mother had to stop working. My little brother has cerebral palsy and dystonia. His condition was getting worse during the summer and he currently cannot use his hands, arms, or legs to do anything. He also has frequent spasms that cause him a lot of pain and require regular movement from being uncomfortable. His condition also means he has a lot of appointments and surgeries my mother needs to take him to. This makes it difficult for my mother to work and be his caretaker.
So for the past few months, my father has been the only one contributing money into the household. At first it was doable, but as time went on, it became difficult to manage all the bills without help from credit cards. However, credit card debt is starting to loom over the family and it's been incredibly difficult to pay for the essentials.
I don't want my family to continue to suffer as much as they are now and reach the point of not being able to afford the essentials. We are used to being constantly stressed about money, but not like this. And I don't want my mother to start working for her own well-being as well as my brother's.
That's why I am reaching out to my community and asking for help. I feel so powerless, only being able to work full time and help for less than a month because school won't let me go further. Also, for my own well-being, I can't work more. I still have a year before I can help out more.
I'm asking for $2000 because that would be the majority of the debt and would help relieve a lot of pressure for my family.
