Support for Lee-Ann & Cali Denham: Honouring Donna's Legacy

On September 2, 2024, Lee-Ann and her niece Cali faced a heartbreaking loss with the unexpected passing of Donna Denham, their beloved mother and grandmother. Donna was not only Cali's guardian and caretaker, but also a cherished figure in their lives.

As they were preparing for Cali's return to school, this tragedy struck, leaving them reeling from yet another loss. Just three years ago, Cali lost her mother, Chelsie, at the tender age of 7.

In the midst of her own grief, Lee-Ann has stepped up to embrace the role of caregiver for Cali, ensuring she has the love and support she needs. This transition involved quickly bringing Cali into her home, applying for custody, and arranging the funeral, all while maintaining her full time job.

Lee-Ann is well-known in the North Shore community for her kindness and dedication. She has been a staff member at the North Shore Girls Soccer Club (NSGSC) for 15 years, volunteered for 8 years, and played youth sports herself. She has given her heart and soul to leading and mentoring girls through NSGSC. Her community involvement also extends to being an instrumental member of the Parent Advisory Council at Cali’s school, initiating a skipping club, co-coordinating the hot lunch program, and volunteering extensively in all school initiatives.

Cali, now 10 years old, is an incredible young girl who has faced tremendous challenges with resilience. We want to ensure she continues to flourish in her academics, sports pursuits, and any other endeavours she chooses, just like her aunt.

The funds raised will be used to establish a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) for Cali, cover memorial expenses and assist with living costs during this difficult period and moving forward. Your support would mean the world to Lee-Ann and Cali - allowing them to focus on their future.

Donna is deeply missed, but her legacy lives on through Lee-Ann and Cali. With the strength of family, friends, and community behind them, they will persevere. Please join us in supporting Lee-Ann and Cali as they navigate this new chapter together.
