Honor a Fallen U.S. Marine – Help Us Lay Lance Corporal Beyan “Promise” Wuelleh to Rest

With hearts heavy with sorrow yet filled with pride, we share the story of our cherished son, brother, and father, Lance Corporal Beyan Promise Wuelleh. A proud Marine and survivor of Liberia’s devastating civil war, he answered the call to serve and protect in the United States of America.

Beyan’s journey began amidst chaos. Born in Liberia during a 14-year civil war, he was separated from his parents at a young age to ensure his survival. Tragically, his father, a political figure, was targeted for death, forcing the family to flee. While his parents sought refuge, Beyan was taken in and raised by a relative in California, who became his adoptive mother and guiding light.

Years later, Beyan was reunited with his biological parents in the United States. He never forgot the sacrifices made for him and channeled his gratitude into service. He joined the United States Marine Corps and dedicated himself fully to the ideals of discipline, courage, and honor.

Service Record and Sacrifice

Beyan served with distinction as a Logistics and Combat Service Support Specialist (MOS 0491) from September 9, 2019, to September 8, 2023. During his service, he earned the rank of Lance Corporal (E-3) and was awarded the following:

- National Defense Service Medal
- Global War on Terrorism Service Medal
- Letter of Appreciation

He completed his service with an honorable discharge, a testament to his unwavering dedication and remarkable character. His commitment to duty extended to serving as a Marine Body Bearer, a solemn role where he laid fellow Marines to rest with dignity. This act of grace was performed with unwavering resolve, unaware that he would one day be honored in a similar manner.

A Father, Taken Too Soon

Above all, Beyan was a devoted father to two beautiful young daughters. His most significant role was just beginning as he embarked on the journey of raising his girls to be strong, kind, and proud.

Today, we humbly request your assistance. We are not merely seeking to bury a Marine with honor; we are also committed to carrying on the love he bestowed upon this world. Our goal is to raise funds to cover the following expenses:

Funeral and burial costs

Family travel and repast expenses

Immediate support for the two young daughters he leaves behind

Why This Matters

Beyan “Promise” Wuelleh was more than just a Marine; he embodied the spirit of survival, resilience, and second chances. He was a child who escaped the horrors of war, a son who embraced new roots, a man who chose to serve his country, and a father who loved deeply.

It is not befitting for parents to bury their children, but God, in His wisdom, has called him home first. Now, it is our sacred duty to honor his memory with dignity and to provide the compassionate support he would have given his daughters every day of his life.

We are deeply grateful for your assistance in honoring Lance Corporal Beyan Promise Wuelleh and in standing shoulder to shoulder with his family during this time of profound grief and remembrance.

With love and gratitude,

The Wuelleh Families

On behalf of his children, his memory, and the legacy of every Marine who served
