Our family is facing an incredibly difficult time after the sudden loss of Lainey’s mother, Ileana. Ileana was a loving, strong, and caring woman who, despite being paralyzed, always found the strength to make the most of each day. She was Lainey’s only living parent and her greatest supporter—always there to offer advice, help with life’s challenges, and provide comfort no matter the situation. Her absence has left a huge void in our lives, both emotionally and practically.

On top of this loss, our family dog Dobby was injured during the incident but is now making a full recovery after surgery and having her staples removed. We are also caring for Blaze, Ileana’s 13-year-old senior dog, who has his own health issues. Managing emergency vet bills, funeral and cremation costs, and the logistics of moving all of Ileana’s belongings has been overwhelming. We’ve had to cover everything out of pocket while missing work and taking on new responsibilities.

Lainey has shown incredible strength through all of this, and we are doing our best to stay positive. However, the financial burden has added a lot of stress to an already heartbreaking situation.
