Support for Kyans family

My 4 year old grandson Kyan has Chiari 1 Malformation, this means that his cerebellum in the back of his brain pushing out of the bottom of his skull down his spine. This causes horrible headaches and tension pain which effects Kyan in his quality of life. Unfortunately there is no cure for Chiari but treatment includes decompression surgery of his brain. This involves opening up the back of his head and removing the c1, c2 and possibly c3 bones, opening the dura to give the cerebellum room and sowing in a patch to hold it all into place. This surgery is covered by Medicare but with my daughter Kate and her husband Mathew being a one income family money has begun to get tight. Mathew has had to take time off work for, neurosurgeon appointments, hospital admissions, mri and ct scan. Kate and Mathew also have a 2 year old daughter, even with family support they have weeks where they fall short. Kyan is scheduled to have his decompression surgery in July and Mathew only has a small amount of leave left for this. I have created this go fund me page not for medical expenses but for help financially to give Mathew time off with his son through the 6 week recovery and rehabilitation ahead. Mathew is such a hard working husband pulling as much over time to make ends meet but once he has time off his wage for the 2 weeks leave he has left will only be his minimum 40 hr week. Once his leave has run out instead of Mathew returning to work while his son recovers it would be amazing if we could raise enough money for him to be him with his family during this time.
