Support for Kurt & Tara

As many of you know, Kurt & Tara have been in a very lengthy adoption process since 2023. They were so blessed to be matched with their sweet baby boy after being specifically chosen by the teenaged birth mother, and after a disruption in the process and so many hurdles along the way, baby was born and brought home in July of 2024. In the following months, the adoption failed to be finalized and the alleged sixty year old birth father has come forward and is trying to gain custody. Kurt & Tara have been, and are now facing even more very steep legal fees to fight to keep their baby.

This is not only to keep their baby, but to keep him from going back to Texas to be with a much older man who is very unfit to parent (per the adoption agency caseworker and by the birth mother’s own opinion), and we have many reasons to believe he would be in an abusive and unsafe environment.

We have created this fund to help carry the financial burden so they at least may not have to be so weighed down about that aspect since the mental, emotional and physical toll is so massive. They will likely have to travel to Texas multiple times, pay for lodging, and pay for several lawyers that will be involved in the trial. Not to mention the debt they’ve already accrued in this process having hired a lawyer months ago. Let’s rally around them and help carry this burden to keep their baby from experiencing any more trauma and keep him safely with them, the only family he’s ever know and one he is so loved by. The stress of finances can be so heavy, but we don’t want that to be a factor in something so dire as protecting a child and giving them a beautiful life.

If by the grace of God, any funds are left over, they will go to the Both Hands organization and the Pregnancy Center of the Coastal Bend in Corpus Christi, TX.

For those that don’t know Kurt and Tara, personally, they have been married for 14 years and Kurt is a pastor at a local church where he has served since college. They have a six year old bio daughter and their adopted almost eight month old son. They live on a little farm in Georgia.
