Our friends Kit and Emerald (aka Stellar/Gnarly Manx) recently had an electrical fire completely destroy a room in their apartment, and are looking to raise funds to get them back on their feet. A fan in the room, which was not even running, caught fire because of faulty wiring while they were away from home, meaning they returned to a fire that had already mostly consumed the room before they could call the fire department. Almost everything that was in the room has been destroyed beyond repair.

While they are both safe, as well as their three beloved cats, this incident has been a huge financial burden for our friends, who also both recently lost their jobs. Among the destroyed items was a huge amount of Em's drag costumes and makeup, and electronics which housed Kit's music and gaming/coding projects. There were items in there which both of them relied on for income. I am hoping that through this GFM, we will be able to recoup some of those items to help get them back on their feet after this horrible accident.

These are both wonderful people who have brought a lot of joy and happiness to the community over the years, as well as real, solid help and labor, both physical and emotional. Em is often the first person to offer help when someone is in need or to show up for our community as an activist-- at marches, rallies, and all kind of demonstrations, though they rarely get acknowledgment for it. It's time for us to help pay that back.
