We are raising funds to help Keith remain comfortably in home during hospice, cross a few things off his bucket list, and cover his final arrangements.
Keith has faced life’s toughest challenges with grit, stubbornness, and a sharp sense of dark humor—but nothing could have prepared him for this final chapter. Last March, Keith lost his son, Shawn, unexpectedly. Just weeks after returning from the service in Tennessee, he received another devastating blow: a diagnosis of stage 3 small cell lung cancer.
Since then, he’s endured a grueling year and a half of chemo and radiation. The treatments, along with traveling to handle his son’s affairs, made it impossible for him to keep working at Doc’s Motorcycle Parts—a job that not only brought great fulfillment to Keith's life, but also helped to pick up the slack that his modest Social Security Disability Income left behind. Losing that role has left him without the means to keep up with his monthly bills, let alone prepare for end-of-life care or final arrangements.
Despite multiple rounds of treatments, his illness has advanced past the point of management, and he will soon be entering hospice care at home. His biggest wish is to spend his remaining time comfortably, surrounded by loved ones, and to leave this world on his own terms—with dignity, laughs, and maybe a few good meals along the way.
This fund has been created to support three things that matter deeply to him:
Comfort in hospice – Making sure he has the equipment, care, and support he needs to remain at home under his daughter's care for as long as is feasibly possible.
Bucket list wishes – From enjoying some really good meals to hopefully going to say goodbye to his elderly sister in Florida, he wants to make a few more lasting memories with those he loves.
A meaningful farewell – When that day arrives, he wants a "biker funeral" that reflects who he was, without worry about the financial strain it may cause his loved ones.
This campaign aims to celebrate Keith’s life and help him to finish his story on his own terms.
If you find yourself in the position to be able to donate towards Keith's final chapter, any contribution is greatly appreciated. If you would like to help in a non-monetary way, sharing this campaign on your feed or just dropping a line of support would mean the world.
Whether through a donation, a share, or simply keeping him in your thoughts, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being a part of making Keith's final chapter one filled with comfort, dignity, and love.
