Support for Kaycee's Children
Donation protected
My name is Maegan Schnoebelen. Kaycee is my big sister.
Last week, Kaycee entered a hospice facility. After suffering another pulmonary embolism that resulted in surgery and massive amounts of pain, she was in and out of the hospital multiple times in the last three weeks. Kaycee reached a point in her disease where she could no longer live at home comfortably and continue taking care of herself and her two kids.
Since entering hospice last week, she has rapidly declined. Her care team notified me on May 4th that she is now in the actively dying phase, which gives her up to one week left here with us.
In preparation for her passing, my husband and I have been appointed guardians of her youngest daughter, Adi. Our mother has been appointed guardian of her oldest, Toby. With this comes grueling challenges for all of us. Kaycee's children will have to navigate a life without their mother and new homes to adjust to. We are hoping to raise money to help with this transition period. Funds raised will go to things like additional funeral costs, clothes, therapy, doctors and dentist visits, education expenses, and anything else needed to help care for the kids in the months to come.
We didn't expect to be facing this loss so soon, and truthfully, we aren't as prepared as we should be. The grief we are experiencing is insurmountable, and anything you feel compelled to give will be beyond appreciated. Know that your donations will go directly towards caring for the two little pieces that we will have left of Kaycee, her kids.
Thank you.
