Support for Kara & Adam Arnold- Little Canyon Inn

Hi, I'm Lesley Gilbert a friend of Kara's in Canon City CO. So many folks have asked how they can help so we are setting up this GoFundMe. Please know that all donations will be directly deposited to Kara and Adam's family as they will be added as the direct beneficiaries of the fundraiser. Funds will go towards travel expenses, food and covering any costs that the Inn needs. Thank you for all the support so far!

Kara's family was a part of the tragedy of the school shooting in Nashville. We are organizing this fund to help Kara's family with travel expenses and cover any costs for Little Canyon Inn. Financial support is always helpful in times like these and the family is so grateful for ALL the support they have received so far. We all want to help and this is one way that folks can. Thank you!

This (Monday) morning there was a shooting at Covenant School in Nashville, TN. Our 9-year-old niece was taken from us in a senseless act of violence that just shouldn’t exist in this world.

Thank you all so much. The outpouring of support from everyone has been so comforting and kind. We are so grateful for our friends and family back east in Nashville and Evansville. Also thank you to our new community in Canon City and Fremont County who have been wonderful and kind to us. We are also so grateful for our friends and community of other motel owners and their outpouring of support(who knew there were so many people crazy like us renovating old motels).

The tone of our social media pages has always been very light hearted and real. While this subject isn't light hearted it is very very real for us. If you have kids then you will identify with this quote from Jim Gaffigan that really hits the nail on the head.

"Little kids love their cousins. I’m not being cute or exaggerating here. Cousins are like celebrities for little kids. If little kids had a People magazine, cousins would be on the cover. Cousins are the barometers of how fun a family get-together will be. Are the cousins going to be there? Fun!"

Our niece was special and it isn't our place/time to tell her story. She meant the world to our little Chippy who was born 3 days apart from her. Just know that Hallie Scruggs was a light for the world and she will be missed so very dearly by all that she touched in this world. Especially this little family in Colorado.

We have friends Pierce and Tarryn(great humans btw) who will be watching the place, answering calls, cleaning rooms etc. So many of you offered to help and we really appreciate all of the kindness. It really means the world to us.
