Support for Julie's husband and kids

Hi, my name is Mark and I'm hoping to raise some money for my brother (in-law) Scotty and their kids after she lost her battle with a rare neurological disease, MSA.

Scott left his paid job to become Julie's full-time carer in their home in Binningup with the aim to ensure Julie's dignity was maintained in the last years of her degenerative condition. It also meant she was able to to continue to live as comfortably and with the greatest level of fulfilment that her illness allowed.

This, I can tell you, was achieved in the highest order. Scotty, or "Saint Scotty", as he is referred to amongst my family was the most dedicated husband you could imagine and would do anything, and I mean anything, to get a smile out of Julie and make her life worth living. If you know anything about the later stages of MSA, or were lucky enough to spend any time with Scotty and Jules over the last few years, you will understand what a monumental achievement this was. Scotty never saw his caring role as a job.

I am setting this up as a thank you for the years, hours and minutes this great man dedicated to my sister and for the beautiful life he provided her with in the most trying of circumstances, so he can heal his mind body and take the time he needs to get himself back into the workforce.

Julie, my beautiful sister, touched many people before and after her diagnosis and truly was one of a kind. She would help anyone at the drop of a hat and would give you her last dollar if you needed it more than she did. Her bravery and the way she choose to live her life after this cruel disease took hold was an inspiration to many. Neither Scotty or Jules are materialistic and enjoyed the simple things in life. That is why the target is set to $1, in honour of Jules who would have seen the humour in this and who would have got more out of that dollar than most.

Please donate whatever you can, the money is going to a truly deserving family, will never be taken for granted and will forever be looked upon with gratitude.
