UPDATE:

Again, thank you to all the families that have helped Juliana and Joe Buddy in this extremely difficult time.

Your generosity and support has meant the world to them.

We managed to raise 4530 euros, which has been incredibly helpful in supporting Juliana with day to day costs.

We have been communicating to Juliana about what the next couple of months look like for them and the probability of them moving to Holland is very high.

We understand that Juliana would like to keep Joe Buddy at school for another 4 months until their tenancy ends, but she does not have the funds to pay for the school.

We are hoping to raise an extra 2,621 euros in order to keep Joe Buddy in a stable environment while Juliana makes arrangements for their new life outside of Barcelona.

We completely understand that you all donated generously the first time around and it made such a great impact. And we are totally aware of how expensive summer and going back to school can be.

All things in consideration, we are launching a second funding wave towards Joe Buddy's tuition for the next 4 months, we know that this could alleviate a huge amount of stress from Juliana's shoulders.

We are reaching out to our school community and beyond to support a family in need during an unimaginably difficult time.

Last week, our dear friend and fellow parent, Juliana suffered the devastating loss of her husband Buddy to pancreatic cancer.

He was a loving and supportive father to their two children—Joe Buddy, a kind and well-loved 2nd-grader, and his baby brother Rey.

Their world has been turned upside down, and Juliana now faces an uncertain future as she navigates this loss.

Juliana is now left with not only immense grief but also overwhelming financial and legal uncertainties.

She has expressed concerns that she may have to leave Barcelona, despite having built a life here with no immediate family to support her.

As a community, we want to come together to offer her some relief—whether to help with immediate expenses, legal guidance, or simply to give her time to grieve and find her footing.
