This GoFundMe has been created to support Jose and his two beautiful young daughters (almost 7 and 5) following the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Maria Elena.
Many people who saw Maria Elena day to day may not have realized the extent of the pain she was enduring. After her surgery, she lived with constant neurological and fascial symptoms. Despite this, she continued trying to be present for her husband, daughters, extended family, and friends with the same generosity, humor, and love that defined her. She passed away this past weekend.
Maria Elena has always been deeply devoted to her family. Her greatest concern throughout this ordeal has been the wellbeing of her husband Jose and their daughters, Penelope and Anabella.
No family should ever have to face such an unimaginable tragedy, especially so suddenly. As the family navigates this devastating situation, we are raising funds to help provide financial stability and time for healing and caregiving. The goal of this fundraiser is to help Jose step away from work as needed to care for the girls as well as support the girls immediete needs.
Funds raised will help cover:
- Household and daily living expenses
- Continuation of health coverage through COBRA
- Medical and caregiving costs
- Time away from work for Jose to support his family
- Emotional and educational support for Penelope and Anabella
- Long-term stability for the girls during an incredibly difficult period
Anyone who knows Maria Elena and Jose knows how much they have given to their community, friends, coworkers, and family over the years. Now, we hope to surround them with the same care and support they have always shown others.
If you are able to contribute, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If you cannot donate at this time, please consider sharing this fundraiser widely with friends, colleagues, school communities, and anyone whose life has been touched by Maria Elena and Jose.
Your support, prayers, and kindness mean more than words can express.
