Our friend John Formann is once again facing a heartbreaking and difficult battle. He and his wife, Lisa, are dealing with the devastating news that the cancer is back. This time it is in his mouth. Surgery is scheduled in a few weeks — it’s urgent and cannot wait.
Last year, John was diagnosed with a large throat tumor, squamous cell carcinoma. He underwent surgery that removed his vocal cords, and now speaks with the help of a voice prosthesis.
John is the kind of person who would never ask for help himself, he’s selfless, caring, and always there for others. That’s why we’ve created this GoFundMe.
We are asking his community to support him now, so he and Lisa can focus on healing and recovery, not the stress of rent and bills.
Every donation, big or small, will help make a real difference.
Despite the brutal recovery from both surgery and radiation therapy, in 2024, John, true to form, pushed through and returned to full-time work earlier this year. He had taken redundancy from his 17-year job at Beaurepaires in Wynnum to support himself and his family during treatment, never expecting the fight would continue.
Unfortunately, John hasn’t been at his new job long enough to accrue any leave, which means he and Lisa are in a very vulnerable financial position. They face a tough road ahead, and we are asking for a 'hand' from their community to help them focus on recovery.
On behalf of John and Lisa,
Thank you so much for your support.
