As you may know, Richard Watkins died suddenly and unexpectedly just two weeks before Christmas.

The sudden loss of Richard has left an unimaginable hole in the Watkins family. Jodie is now faced with an inconceivable task - single-handedly supporting their son, Theo and ensuring that he has all of the emotional care he needs, trying to stay well for their unborn baby - and all whilst navigating her own grief and their family life going forwards without Richard.

It is difficult to ever properly prepare for any loss, but the unexpected nature of Richard’s death has left Jodie with no financial safety net - she is now the only source of income whilst now being the sole carer for Theo. Additionally, with a period of maternity leave later this year, Jodie’s situation is not going to get any easier in the coming months and we have set up this page in the hope that Jodie’s friends, family and community might be able to ease the burden of this heartbreaking situation. We absolutely appreciate that the cost of living means that this might be difficult, but if you can contribute in any way to help to reduce the pressure on Jodie, we would be eternally grateful.
