Support for Jill & Tyler’s Care and Recovery

For those of you who know Jill, you know how hard it is to ask for help. We are very blessed to know Jill and we are now being asked to step up to help her out and show her how much we care. For those who don't know her, she is known for her creativity, her resilience, fierce independence, and her compassion.

Jill has always put others first, both as a loving mother, daughter and sister, as well as a dedicated nurse. When Tyler was only 3, she unexpectedly lost her husband Shelley. She has since worked tirelessly to support her two sons- Aaron, who ended up becoming a nurse as well, and Tyler-who lives with significant disabilities. Tyler is a gentle soul who finds joy in simple things like playing with old telephones, collecting model cars, and looking through photos. Despite his heart condition and limited mobility, Jill has always fought for him, helping him achieve milestones that many thought were impossible—like walking, talking, and caring for himself in small but meaningful ways.

Recently, Jill and Tyler have faced a series of setbacks. Government cuts led to the loss of Tyler’s Medicaid and Medicare, leaving them without insurance for his essential medications and regular doctor visits. The cost of caregiving has become overwhelming, especially since Jill needs reliable help to continue working. Her family is supportive, but Jill’s pride and independence make it hard for her to ask for assistance. She wants nothing more than to work a few more months until she turns 70, when her social security benefits will increase and provide more stability for her and Tyler.

On top of these challenges, Jill is now facing her own health crisis. She needs revision surgery on her back and neck, which will require her to take unpaid leave from work for several months. This means even more financial strain as she tries to cover medical bills, caregiving costs, and everyday expenses without a steady income. Jill has always put Tyler’s needs first, and now she needs a little help from her community to get through this difficult time. Every contribution will go directly toward caregiving support, medical expenses, and helping Jill and Tyler stay afloat until she can return to work and reach her retirement milestone.

Side note: every month it costs approximately 2k to pay for Tyler's caregivers. That doesn't include any of his medications or regular DR appointments.
