After the shocking news our family received of Jeremy’s passing in his sleep, we are in the hazy days of grief, adjusting to life without him, and all the emotional and practical ways that impacts us. Nothing really prepares you for this, but one thing we have is our hope in a God who cares for us deeply and the many people who have embraced us with their presence, meeting practical needs, feeding us, doing the tasks that now feel overwhelming amidst the shift in our sails. As I look toward the days to come, bills to pay (Jeremy’s medical bills have started to come in), loss of his income, meeting the emotional and physical needs of my kids it would be easy to get swallowed up by it all. I am so grateful for the many people who have offered help and already provided for us in real ways. Many hands truly do lighten the burden.
