I've arranged this fundraiser for my parents, Jeff & Robin Benton, despite this being something they would never do for themselves.

On Wednesday, December 3rd at 4 a.m. they awoke to the unimaginable. Smoke, smoke so thick they could barely find themselves to safety.

Their smoldering fireplace burnt through to the wall behind it where it met their master bedroom/bathroom suite where it caught fire and made its way to their electrical panel and it all escalated from there. What the fire didn't take, the smoke damage did. This has been devastating to say the least.

My step-dad, Jeff, is disabled and my mother is his caretaker. They are on a very fixed income. Thank goodness for homeowners insurance but they are currently jumping through hoops. In the meantime, they desperately need help.

When I asked my mama what I could bring bring her following the incident, all she asked me for was a warm pair of pajamas which I delivered and then some but they need far more than what I can give them so I am turning to our friends and family for help.

They have struggled one hardship after another, one surgery after another and have never asked for help. For this to happen at this time of year is all the more devastating. Putting their pride to the side, they need help more than ever before to get them by until they have a new place to call home.
