The days feel long, and the nights even longer, but even in the darkest moments, the sun still rises. Because of your love, prayers, and support, we finally have a meaningful step forward: Jeannie has secured an appointment at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston in mid-April.
The specialized team of doctors focused on Cancer of Unknown Primary (CUP) have already received her records from City of Hope and are actively reviewing them. When she arrives, they will continue testing and work to develop a treatment plan. We don’t yet know what that plan will look like, but we are holding onto this as a renewed and powerful source of hope, and praying it continues to grow brighter.
We’ve done our best to respect the family’s need for privacy during this time. Their journey is filled with emotional weight, constant caregiving, and the reality of overwhelming medical expenses required to fight this unknown cancer. Your generosity has meant everything to us. As we take this next step toward MD Anderson, we humbly ask for continued support.
Jeannie is immunocompromised, and traveling back and forth to Houston for specialized care will be both physically and financially demanding. Some of the treatments ahead may not be covered by insurance. Since first sharing her diagnosis, Jeannie has been in and out of the hospital multiple times, facing complications and relentless, often excruciating pain as the cancer continues to spread. She is now working toward completing her sixth and final round of chemotherapy, hoping it will strengthen her for the journey ahead, even though its immediate toll is exhausting.
And yet—through it all—Jeannie remains our sunshine. Even in the face of daily struggles, she continues to fight with grace, bringing comfort and peace to those around her.
Anyone who knows Jeannie knows her heart. She is the person who shows up, who celebrates others, who gives without hesitation, and who lights up every room with her radiant smile. She has lifted so many of us—now it’s our turn to lift her.
Please help us get Jeannie the care she deserves. Share her story. Thank you for everything you’ve already given. Let’s continue to show her that she is not alone and that this is not the end of her story.
Let’s come together to support everything that lies ahead.
Thank you for loving her.
