We are Susan and Sally, friends and neighbors of Jean and Damario.
As most of you know, Jean and Damario are moving from Pleasant Hill Cohousing under difficult circumstances. The housing search, related stresses and financial constraints have placed a huge strain on Jean, landing her in the ER last week with chest pain, shortness of breath and high blood pressure. (She checked out fine cardiac-wise, thankfully, but is still having panic attacks.) In order to preserve her health and care for Damario, Jean is taking another two weeks of unpaid leave from work.
With this campaign, we hope to ease the strain of this unanticipated move. Specifically, we aim to cover her first month's rent, security deposit, moving expenses, and an emergency Air B&B from early June. Jean and Damario have lived in six different homes over the last six weeks (not including hotels on their trip). Let's help them settle into their new home at 1250 Walker Ave. in Walnut Creek!
