During the early morning of January 1, 2026, tragedy struck the family of Issa Mbolo-Isac and the TLC community.
Mr. Isac, a native of Burkina Faso, immigrated to the U.S. in search of opportunity and worked long hours driving for Uber and Lyft to support his family back home. After completing a 12-hour shift, he was heading home when an enraged owner of another vehicle wrongly accused Mr. Isac of having sideswiped his vehicle and attempted to assault him. Mr. Isac tried to drive away to escape, but was ultimately gunned down by this deranged assailant.
This senseless act of gun violence ended the life of a hardworking man whose journey was defined by perseverance and sacrifice. His death has been recorded as the first homicide in New York City in 2026.
Funds raised will help cover funeral expenses and provide support to his family during this unimaginable loss.
