This past weekend, our dear friend Irina suffered an unimaginable tragedy.

On Saturday evening in Carlsbad, her beloved partner, Robert, drowned in the ocean despite the desperate efforts of lifeguards to save him. More than 30 lifeguards, along with a helicopter and drones, searched for him until nightfall, but they were unable to recover him.

They had been together for two years, building a future and planning to get married. In a single moment, Irina's life changed forever.

In the wake of this devastating loss, Irina finds herself in an incredibly vulnerable position. She is currently a college student studying physical therapy, living on a very limited income. Robert was not only her life partner but also her primary source of emotional and financial support. She is now facing an uncertain future while trying to continue her studies and cope with overwhelming grief.
