My name is Susan. I’m a wife and a mother, and my husband and I have been married for just over a year while navigating the long and often difficult process of family reunification through immigration.
I never imagined needing to ask for help like this, but after a lot of thought, I’m reaching out with humility and gratitude.
My husband and I are working toward legally reuniting and building our life together in Canada. While we are fully committed to supporting ourselves long-term, the upfront costs involved in immigration, preparation, and resettlement are significant and tend to arrive all at once.
I’m raising funds to help cover immigration filing fees and related legal costs, as well as some of the basic necessities he will need when he arrives, such as winter clothing, boots, and other essentials to help him adjust safely and comfortably to life here.
In addition, part of this process includes the ongoing cost of daily communication while we are apart — international phone plans, internet access, and long-distance communication that allow us to stay connected and emotionally supported throughout this separation.
This fundraiser is not meant to replace responsibility or independence. It is simply intended to help bridge a challenging transition period as we work toward being together and becoming fully self-sufficient as a family.
Any support — whether through donating, sharing, or simply keeping us in your thoughts — truly means more than I can express. Thank you for reading, and thank you for your kindness.
