Support for Ilya and Katie

Hi, my name is Svetlana and I am fundraising for my son’s family.

As many of you know, my grandson, Ezra, was born with a congenital heart defect. At 3 days old instead of going home with his parents, he was rushed to Boston Children’s Hospital for open-heart surgery. His parents, my son Illya, and daughter-in-law, Katie, stayed by his side for almost a month-long hospital stay. At 6 months old Ezra had another open-heart surgery that required placement of a cardiac pacemaker. At this time, Katie stopped working to take care of Ezra and keep him safe at home instead of sending him to daycare where he was susceptible to illness due to his weakened immune system. Illya and Katie are dedicated parents who have taken a lot of time off from work due to Ezra’s medical procedures and appointments. At this point despite both parents working full-time, they are struggling financially due to outstanding medical bills and in-home childcare expenses. Anything will help while they continue to work hard to overcome their debt.
