We are grandparents doing our best to support our college-age grandchildren as they face a very difficult period. Our grandchildren live with their mother, who is on disability and has been unable to find steady work. Their father has struggled with addiction and has been in and out of rehab centers for years. Despite these challenges, both grandchildren are working hard and attending college, determined to build a better future for themselves.

Recently, the family received a court order that will evict them from their current rental unit. While they are working on securing alternative housing, the earliest they might be able to move into a new place is February 1, 2026. Over the years, we have provided as much financial support as we could, but as retirees living on a fixed income, we are no longer able to help as much as we would like. The family is now facing a gap in stable housing and essentials, and the situation has become urgent.
