Support Ghanaians in QLD through COVID-19
We sincerely hope this message finds you well.
We’re fundraising to support Ghanaians in Queensland and their families who do not qualify for the Australian Government assistance during this COVID-19 crisis.
How much do we aim to raise?
We aim to raise $5,000 as a starting point. However this amount can be increased based on the need within our community and generosity of the donations received.
Where will the money go?
The money will be put directly in the hands of the individuals who meet the requirements as follows:
1. Do not meet Australian Government assistance programs
2. Supporting themselves through their studies
3. On a working visa where role has been terminated or hours reduced.
If you are in need, please contact us.
We will maintain your privacy and confidentiality in our communications and will work with you to seek consent and accountability in all steps of our process.
What are the funds to be used for?
Funds given will be for the following as deemed essential:
Immediate health expenses, groceries, paying rent, and visa renewals.
How will the funds be distributed?
The funds management and distribution will be overseen the Ghanaians QLD Executive team.
We will meet weekly to administer and distribute the funds.
Money disbursement will depend on the amount of money raised, requests received and need.
We sincerely thank you in advance of your support of this initiative and hope that you will stand alongside us in support of our community members who may be struggling through this season of uncertainty.
Yours Sincerely,
Ghanaians Queensland Inc.
