Support for Freya and Ari

Hi, I am trying to raise funds for a new young family, Troy and Ola, who has been doing it tough since Christmas Eve when Ola went into labour at 24 weeks giving birth just three days later to twins Ari and Freya weighing just 645 grams each. After 123 days in the RBWH, they were transferred to SCUH, juggling work so far away from home; the constant parking, tolls and fuel have had a big impact on them.

They finally made it home in April. However, things didn't go so well for either baby, and it has been a constant battle to keep them both well. Ari has issues with his Kidneys and is under renal specialists; however, he is doing much better and, after nine months, is now feeding well and putting on good weight. He will need regular tests to check the damage caused by the medications used, which were nessarsary to have kept him alive.

The situation with Freya has sadly gotten severe with her chronic lung disease, failing to put on weight and continuous vomiting. Ola and Troy have been spending much time in and out of the hospital, doctor appointments, clinics, etc.; she is now being sent for an urgent Liver biopsy in the Children's hospital within the next 1-2 weeks.

Troy and Ola have suffered massively financially due to Troy needing so much time off work and Ola not being able to return to her job.

Freya and Ari are miracle babies, as Ola was lucky to have them as she suffers from an undiagnosable chronic immune system disorder; she is a warrior who battles on, never even worrying about herself and the pain she is in.

The funds will be used to pay expenses for the big trip to Brisbane for surgery. It will be a 5 to 2-week stay for the biopsy and all the other tests Freya will have to endure. Freya needs to have special milk, costing $300 a box, multiple types of medication, requiring constant care, and purchasing special equipment for Freya and Ari to keep them stimulated, such as new bouncers and walkers to sit in and things to lay on.

Any donation would help this young family who has put 100% into these two little fighters. They are all on this journey longer than anyone would like or can continue to endure alone.
