Dear friends, family & community,
We are successfully* raising support for my dear childhood friend and longtime resident of Fort Bragg - Patti Fereira.
The housing crisis is upon Patti and she is in critical need of our support. She needs our help to keep her safe.
The house Patti has lived in since 1997 is being sold and she is in imminent danger of homelessness. Local resources are minimal and time is limited.
UPDATE 9/2/24:
So far we have raised 20% of the goal - thank you!! And we are seeing hope sparked in Patti as she is deeply moved by and very grateful to this community for the support. In this one time effort, we will be providing Patti with the funding she will need in this next crucial phase. Her specific moving needs are yet unknown. It could be the purchase of a small trailer, or a deposit and rental payment, or a downpayment , or even a head start on the first month’s burden of rent, fees and expenses and…
Whatever we can do will help.
Please consider continuing to help us by passing this link along to friends, family and anyone you know who is able to contribute. This will be significant in helping us meet our goal. Any amount will make a difference and every amount will be appreciated fully.
Thank you again.
We, her friends, family and community, are needed to provide Patti with the support and stability she needs in this difficult and traumatic transition. The housing crisis is a daunting landscape when one is searching for a new home. Our goal is to provide her with some relief in this endeavor.
Not know what her future holds, Patti will need help with funds for possible things such as:
- Rental Listing fees
- Moving expenses
- Trailer or live-in unit purchase, repair and weather proofing
- Lease/move-in costs
- and other unseen prohibitive housing costs & fees
Patti is much loved in her community. She has a helpful, generous reputation and spirit. She has excellent references, and access to various community resources. She is on a fixed income and cannot afford much more than $800 per month. Limited funding puts her at a precarious disadvantage. Patti also has two dogs (one small, one medium) that she is very worried she may not be able to keep under the circumstances.
Patti has decades of landscape, grounds keeping, house/pet-sitting and caretaking experience. These assets make her an excellent candidate for live-work trade. Any leads on potential work-trade living situations for her would also be welcome.
As a 4th generation Portuguese Finn, Patti's knowledge of the Mendocino coast and its rich, colorful heritage and history is vast. She is a local gem to be treasured.
Please give what you can as we rally around Patti to keep her safe and housed.
This fund is to be made available entirely to Patti.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
