I never imagined I’d be in a position where I needed to ask for help, but after a difficult divorce in 2024, my life changed dramatically. I was the primary breadwinner and paid all the bills, but at the end of my marriage, I was ordered to give my ex half of everything I worked so hard for. On top of that, I’m now facing significant debt from loans I took out to pay for lawyers. Since I had to give my ex half, I had to refinance my house, and now I’m paying double what I was before. We have joint custody of our two boys, but I’m still paying child support, which makes things even tighter.
My girlfriend moved in to help make things easier and to give herself a chance to move forward in life. She’s living with diabetes and has retinopathy in both eyes, which makes daily life challenging. She’s been working at Target since the end of 2025 and just recently got offered a position at Henry Ford hospital. Because of her vision, she can’t drive and has to pay a lot for Ubers to get to work. She needs funding to help find a home for herself and her children, and when she leaves, I’ll be taking care of a home and two boys on my own.
We’re looking for support with housing, medical supplies, transportation, fixing our vehicle, and hopefully a little camping vacation for my boys, who have been through so much. I’ve always tried to help others in need but never considered asking for help myself until now. My girlfriend has been a light during a dark time in my life, and as much as I’d love to keep her here, I know she has obligations of her own. Any support anyone can share would be greatly appreciated and would help us move forward during this challenging time.
