Support for Family During Child’s Care

My name is Christa, and I’m reaching out for support as my family faces a difficult time. My 13-year-old child is currently in need of a higher level of mental health care, which has required me to step away from work. At the same time, my employer went through layoffs, and I’m now in a waiting period for paid family leave to unemployment benefits. This has left us without income, and our bills are quickly piling up.

I’m struggling to cover essentials like food, gas, car expenses, our phone bill, and other daily needs. The uncertainty of when benefits will come through has made things even more stressful. I’m hoping to get through the end of August with some help, as I plan to look for work again in September.
