Support for Family After ICE Detention

I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of a dear friend and her family who are facing an unimaginable and heartbreaking situation. Just days ago, life was normal. A devoted husband and father was going about his day, providing for his family as he always has. Then, without warning, everything changed. While simply driving on the road in Williamson County, he was stopped by ICE. Multiple guns were pointed directly at him immediately. No questions were asked. There was no conversation, no explanation in the moment — just force and sudden detention. He did not resist. He posed no threat. For anyone, this would be a terrifying experience.

He is undocumented, but not a criminal. He has no criminal record, has never been in trouble, abides by the law, works a legitimate job, and pays his taxes. He was brought to the United States by his parents as a child and has lived here for over 21 years. This is the only life he knows. He built his home, his career, and his family here, but never had a clear path to citizenship. He is a good dad in every sense of the word. Everything he does is for his family. Overnight, his children — one in kindergarten and one in sixth grade — were left without their father. His wife, a local Pre-K teacher who spends her days caring for and nurturing young children in our community, is now trying to protect her own children through fear, confusion, and heartbreak.

He is currently being held in a detention center under extremely difficult conditions. He has shared that the conditions are harsh, he is treated rudely and unfairly, and each day is emotionally and physically exhausting as he waits for his case to move forward. He is fighting with everything he has to return home to his family while enduring this detention.

The impact has been immediate and overwhelming. One day the family was stable and together. The next, they were suddenly facing: loss of income, urgent immigration legal fees, basic living expenses, childcare and household costs, and emotional trauma for the children.

This fundraiser is to help support the family during this crisis — to cover immigration legal fees, basic living expenses, childcare, and to provide stability while they navigate an uncertain and frightening time. I am organizing this on her behalf because she is understandably overwhelmed and scared and cannot safely put herself out there publicly right now. As her friend, and as an American citizen, I am using my voice to help where I can.

This is not a political debate. This is a real family in our community. Real children missing their dad. A mother doing everything she can to hold it all together after everything changed overnight. Any amount helps. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing. Your kindness, compassion, and support mean more than words can express. Thank you for standing with this family when they need it most.
