Three men brutally attacked two of my closest friends, Ezra and Isaac, leaving them with long-lasting, if not permanent, injuries. These injuries disabling them from their day-to-day activities and jobs. They both have to completely rely on caregivers due to the extent of their injuries. Just to give you some perspective on the severity of these injuries…

Ezra needed surgery on his stomach (possibly needing another), the bone under his front two bottom teeth is broken, he received stitches on his bottom lip and stomach, his reproductive organs are permanently damaged due to the blunt force trauma to his abdomen, that trauma also led to fluid buildup in his intestines (most likely blood), he is subjected to needing a heart monitor and oxygen for an unspecified amount of time, and he needs to remain hospitalized to receive physical therapy in order to walk again…

Isaac can’t walk and needs a wheelchair, his hand is mangled, the attackers ripped out his 2 gauge septum and beat him so badly he can’t see properly due to the swelling, and he has road rash and stitches all over his body…

This was not just an attack, this was a hate crime. This will forever impact Ezra and Isaac leaving them traumatized, scared, and disabled. This was not only a targeted attack on two queer lovers, this was a targeted attack on queer parenthood. These disgusting abusers vocalized their intentions when targeting their vicious attacks on Ezra’s pregnancy resulting in him having a miscarriage.
