2 weeks ago Emmett texted mom and said he needed to go to the Dr, that he had a hernia from weight lifting. He had mentioned how painful the last week was for him so he finally mentioned it to his mom. His family got him in that day to see his pediatrician. The pediatrician was blown away that Emmett had been going through this, hadn't said anything yet, let alone finished his

soccer season, started his baseball season. That same day we were put in contact with UCSF Children's hospital to get him in for hernia surgery. Last Thursday was his hernia surgery. Only a few minutes after the Dr. started surgery, he came out to

Chris and Jasmine to inform them that it was infact a massive tumor, and he would remove it. Well after this last stressful week of waiting for results, his mom got the call

yesterday, it was a cancerous tumor,

Rhabdomyosarcoma. From what is understood it is a childhood cancer. He is waiting to here form the UCSF oncologist, where he will later be treated. Because of this horrendous news, many of Emmett’s daily routines are going to change. He has go onto independent study to finish out this year of high school and may continue on to the next school year. Due to Dr appointments and traveling the Garlington’s work life, home life and all their favorite hobbies will have to change. We are setting up this go fund me to assist in any work that will be missed, medical expenses that will have to be paid and everything else in between to get him better.
