This family of six has recently experienced a sudden and devastating crisis. The husband and father has been detained due to immigration circumstances, and with his absence, the family has lost their primary source of income. Elva is doing everything she can to hold her family together, but without her husband’s income, she is struggling to keep up with basic expenses. Their youngest child requires ongoing interventions and support for Autism, which are essential for his development and well-being. Their other children have been deeply affected socially and emotionally and are currently receiving counseling—another necessary, but costly, responsibility during this painful time. This family is carrying more than anyone should have to carry alone.
