Support for Ellie's Family

The Walton Family (near Seattle, WA) needs our help!

Ellie Walton was diagnosed with brain cancer at just 4 months old - and she fought long and hard. Parents Sarah & Kyle lost their sweet daughter to cancer on January 15, 2017 -  not long after her 4th birthday. Years of medical bills and financial stress did not end when Ellie passed away.  Almost 2 years later and the family is still in need of our love and financial support.

Here is a summary in Sarah's words:
Sarah (mom): My anxiety, panic attack’s, and depression, have been getting worse. In fact it’s the worst it has been since Ellie left us. I’m trying to keep things together for my girls, but honestly it’s hard. *Sarah has started Uber-ing as a way to bring in some money.*

Kyle (dad): About 6 months back, Kyle had a stroke at work. Followed by more and more. TIAs they call them. So bad that he was put on medical leave from work. Leaving us without income and more questions than answers. His neurologist finally got an MRI done that showed that Kyle has (what they think/second opinion pending) a cyst in his brain. Conveniently located around the same area as Ellie’s. As of this last week, Kyle went in for more testing, because they think his kidneys are now failing (we don’t have results yet). As you can imagine, this news has broken us, I can’t loose him.

Ava  (Ellie's big sister): She has been in counseling since Ellie started radiation back in 2015. Being torn away from your parents is never easy, and watching your sister die in your arms, well that’s unbearable. Ava has always been a handful, as she has always had signs of sensory issues, and characteristics that put her on the autistic spectrum. As of the last year, Ava has started medications for depression, anxiety, and panic attack’s. The things that come out of this kids mouth break my heart everyday. Her brain is not a good place to be. Within the last two days, I have heard her tell me that she wants to join her sister in heaven. This is something I never thought I’d face. She doesn’t handle school well, even though her grades are great, but now she has appointments on the regular to deal with the thoughts in her head, and how to handle (what she thinks are heart attacks) her panic attacks.

Avery (Ellie's baby sister): Our gift from God. The only one that manages to bring us all together and smile daily. She is almost 9 months old.

I would love to help alleviate some of the financial stress so the family can focus on their emotional & medical needs. I felt a connection with their family years ago when I started following Ellie's journey - in part because Ava & Ellie are the same ages as my kids. Any amount you can give would mean the world to this family. (Even $5 - just giving up a coffee or a random stop to the Target $ section that got out of hand!) Let's let them know that they have not been forgotten!

*Any funds raised will be used for monthly living expenses (housing, groceries, utilities etc.), medical bills, and keeping them afloat while Kyle is on medical leave.*
