I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my sister, Elizabeth, who is facing an unimaginable season of loss, heartbreak, and financial hardship.

Earlier this year, Elizabeth’s son, AJ, was diagnosed with stage four cancer. From that moment on, her life became centered around caring for her son—countless emergency room visits, doctor appointments, hospital stays, and round-the-clock care at home. Like any devoted mother, Elizabeth put her child first.

Because of AJ’s illness, Elizabeth was forced to reduce her work schedule to just one or two days a week. Even then, there were many times she couldn’t make it to work because AJ needed emergency care. Eventually, her employer needed a full-time position filled, and Elizabeth lost her job.

During this same time, Elizabeth was also traveling back and forth between New York and South Carolina to help care for our sister Patty during her battle with cancer. Patty passed away recently, and Elizabeth has barely had time to grieve—she has been in survival mode, doing everything she can for the people she loves.

Elizabeth has now exhausted her savings and is falling behind on her mortgage and basic household bills. She is at risk of losing her home, all while preparing to say goodbye to her son.

We are asking for help to ease this burden so Elizabeth can focus on what matters most right now—being present with AJ and navigating the days ahead without the constant fear of losing her home.
