As some of you may have heard, my grandparents’ (Eddie and Gail Williamson) home burned down last night. In a matter of minutes, they lost everything they’ve spent a lifetime building—everything except the clothes they were wearing.

Both of them have devoted their lives to serving others. My grandpa is a retired head football coach and teacher who still gives back as a driver’s ed instructor. My grandma, a retired English teacher, is often remembered by former students as their favorite teacher of all time.

We are incredibly thankful they are alive and out of the hospital. My grandpa did suffer second-degree burns, but true to who he is, he’s tough as nails and fighting through it.
