Support for Djuna: A Lifelong Foster Parent needs our help!!

On Monday, June 9, 2025, an unimaginable tragedy occurred in Richmond County involving Mrs. Bostick— a deeply loved and respected member of our community. While caring for a foster child in her custody, a devastating accident occurred that tragically resulted in the child’s passing.

This heartbreaking event has shaken Djuna, her family, and the many lives she’s touched over the past 35+ years as a foster parent.

Djuna has dedicated her entire adult life to caring for children who needed love, stability, and a safe home. She’s known throughout the community as “the lady with all the kids” — a woman who never turned away a child in need. Whether it was an emergency call in the middle of the night, a sibling group others couldn’t take, or children with complex needs, Djuna said yes. She showed up — day in and day out — with a heart full of love and hands willing to serve.

At the time of this tragedy, my dear cousin, Djuna was caring for four children ages 7 months to 9 years old. She worked two jobs, including driving a school bus and working at an elementary school, all while raising these children with unwavering love. She rarely took time for herself, choosing instead to pour everything she had into the lives of the little ones in her care.

Now, Mrs. Bostick needs us to show up for her.

This tragedy does not define her. Her decades of selfless care and devotion to vulnerable children speak volumes about who she truly is. In this moment of immense loss and hardship — emotionally, financially, and spiritually — we are asking for your help.
