This fundraiser has been created with the blessing of Dj’s mother, Mrs. Tembo. All funds raised will go directly toward Dj’s funeral expenses and supporting Dj’s wife and his two young sons:

As many of you may know, Dj had spent the last several years living in Zambia, where he met and married his wife . Together they built a beautiful life and raised their two toddler sons, both under the age of five. On Saturday, March 14th, Dj tragically and unexpectedly passed away in a car accident, leaving behind his loving wife and their two young children.

Dj was my first best friend from 3rd grade, but to me he was much more than that, he was a brother.

Dj was the kind of person who formed deep, genuine relationships with everyone he met. He had a rare gift for making people feel seen, valued, and like part of his family. His presence touched countless lives in our community and beyond.

Above all else, Dj loved being a father. His sons were the center of his world. He was a devoted provider, protector, and a powerful example of what it means to lead with God, love, integrity, and purpose. Even at such a young age, his boys looked up to him as their hero.

Dj worked hard to create opportunities not only for his family, but for others as well. He was a children’s book author, a real estate investor, and a mentor to at risk youth. Using all of his life experiences to dedicate his time and energy to guiding young people toward brighter futures. Dj believed deeply in lifting others up and leaving laughter and a positive impact wherever he went.

Even while living across an ocean, Dj remained deeply connected to his friends and family around the world. He regularly checked in with loved ones across Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, the Congo, Zambia, and many other places. Distance never stopped Dj from showing love and staying present in people’s lives.

Now, in the wake of this heartbreaking loss, we are reaching out to ask for support for Dj’s family. The funds raised will help cover funeral expenses and provide support for his wife and two very young sons as they navigate this incredibly difficult time losing.

Losing Dj so suddenly has left a void that can never truly be filled, but together we can help ease the burden on the family he loved so deeply.

Dj was my brother in every way that matters. Supporting his family during this untimely crisis would mean more to than words can express. We are family, and I know without a doubt that Dj would have done the same for the people he loved.
