David Gaffney was a strong-willed, loving husband and father who dedicated his life to helping others. As the maintenance manager at an assisted care facility, he was well known for his creativity and his willingness to take on any project for those he cared about. David was an artist at heart, pouring his passion and energy into everything he did, whether it was supporting his family or making a difference in his community.
David was also the founder of Bikers for Autism Kentucky, a program he created in support of his son, who has autism. Through this initiative, David brought together bikers and community members to raise awareness and provide support for families affected by autism. His dedication to this cause touched many lives and reflected his deep love for his son and his commitment to making a positive impact.
After months of battling severe infections from meningitis, David passed away on October 9, 2025, leaving behind his wife Nickie and their children. His family had hoped for his recovery and were unprepared for the sudden loss. The financial crisis that followed has been overwhelming, with medical supply costs from his illness, cremation expenses, and the challenge of adjusting to a single income home without life insurance benefits. David's absence has left a deep emotional and financial void for his loved ones.
This fundraiser is dedicated to helping Nickie and the children navigate these difficult times. Contributions will go directly toward covering medical bills, funeral costs, and essential living expenses as the family adjusts to their new reality. By supporting this fundraiser, you are helping David's family honor his memory and find stability in the wake of an unimaginable loss.
