Our dad, David Karl Fischer, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025 after a long, hard fight with ALS. He was surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home in Oakland, which he lived in for over 15 years. He loved music and family, travel and good food. He played the bass in countless rock, folk, and Django jazz bands over the years, and when ALS took that away from him he sang in a chorus - bass/baritone of course. We are heartbroken and grieving his absence, and trying to forge a path forward without him.

Dave’s partner, Sarah, myself and my brother were his primary caregivers through a majority of his illness. We are so grateful to have gotten to have this precious time with him.
