Hello everyone,

I’m writing this with a heavy heart to ask for help for my dad, a Turkish American man who came to the United States nearly 40 years ago in search of a better life. Through hard work, resilience, and sacrifice, he built a life here for himself and for our family. He has always been a provider, a fighter, and a source of strength to those around him.

About a year ago, our lives changed forever when my dad was diagnosed with brain cancer. Since then, his health has rapidly declined. He has undergone chemotherapy and radiation, and while he has fought bravely, his condition now requires full-time medical care.

Recently, my dad was suddenly displaced from his living situation, creating an urgent need for placement in a nursing facility that can provide the care he needs. As full-time working adults, my sister (29) and I (33) are not able to manage all of his medical care on our own. We are both educators and are doing everything possible to support him while continuing to work.

I am currently paying out of pocket for graduate school, which is required for me to maintain my job. Because of this sudden financial burden related to my dad’s new housing needs, I may be forced to unenroll from school to help cover his care and if that happens, I will lose my job.

All funds raised through this GoFundMe will go directly toward paying for my dad’s housing and nursing facility expenses, ensuring he has a safe, stable place to live and receive proper medical care during this incredibly difficult time.
