Support for Dad's Estate and My Recovery
Donation protected
My dad passed Nov 6, 2024. Ever since his passing I’ve been entrusted with caring for his estate. Under normal circumstances, this wouldn’t be too terrible of a task, but the month following his death I tore my meniscus and was out of work for two months, then when I went back to work finally, I was ripped away again by a major car accident that’s left herniated discs all down my back. I have not worked since March 11th this year because of the accident and having only two weeks of actually being at work didn’t exactly give me a lot to run with as far as my bills go and made it even harder to maintain his estate. I’ve paid 5k for an attorney to help sort his affairs and have been paying the all the taxes, HOA fees, electric, and water to the best of my abilities. Right now the power is off at his house and the water is fixing to be cut off. Having no power means we can’t work at the house getting his things organized, donated, or selling whatever we’re planning on selling. I also got a quote from my landscaping guy that said it would take 300-400 to get his back yard in decent shape. The weeds/grass was long when he passed and since I’ve had health issues it wasn’t on my priority list but now his HOA is harassing us about maintaining the yard properly. The front is maintained but the back yard has car parts, tires, coolers, bikes, and chopped down trees ALL overgrown with weeds and such. There is also an old wooden shed that is literally falling apart that needs to be torn down and was quoted in the thousands for it. I can’t afford a fine from the HOA, so I really need help keeping his bills paid and maintaining his wild yard.
Anyone that knew my dad knows he was a wild, caring, fun guy. He loved this house as it was the home he was raised in, and I want to make sure I’m able to honor his memory by keeping everything stable. If you’re able to pitch in anything, I’d be eternally grateful!
