Support for Dad's Cancer and Mom's Alzheimer's

My name is Julie Barbaree. My brother, Robbie Davis, and I have been caring for our mom and dad for about four years now. Daddy was diagnosed with Stage 4 bladder cancer which had moved into the lymph nodes of his abdomen about 4 years ago. About that same time, our mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Daddy began immunotherapy treatment (a treatment every three weeks) which was very successful at shrinking the cancer. He continued the immunotherapy for almost three years. Once the cancer had shrunk so small it couldn't be seen on a scan, treatment stopped. During this time, we also found out his heart ejection fraction was 25%, normal is 50-60%. He needed a defibrillator, however, before he could get it, they found a tumor on his ureter. He recently finished four weeks of radiation which left him physically fragile. He spent 6 days in hospital before transitioning to rehab. After 3 weeks in rehab, he came home for one night in which he fell twice within 12 hours. He is now back in the nursing home and we are transitioning to long-term care. Mama will be joining him as soon as we can get her paperwork completed.

In order to get Dad in, we are having to come up with almost $7000 to cover co-pay and penalties from a land sale four years ago.

We do not like having to ask for help but we exhausted most of our resources trying to take care of them the last four years and now have no resources to get them the help they need. We are setting up a separate bank account specifically for helping with their nursing home payments. Any help would be so greatly appreciated and will go directly to the nursing home.
