We are heartbroken to share the passing of Chastity Rogers-Johnson’s beloved daughter, Cierra, who courageously battled sickle cell disease. Her loss has left a deep void in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her.
Cierra’s love for her son, Remi, was deep, pure, and unwavering—he was truly the center of her world. Her beautiful smile could light up any room, and even through her battles, she showed incredible strength, always pushing forward with love and resilience for her baby. She was not only a fighter, but a devoted and loving mother whose greatest joy was her son.
Cierra was also passionate about education. She served as a substitute teacher in Hillsborough County and was dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children. She earned both her Associate of Arts (AA) and Associate of Science (AS) degrees from Hillsborough Community College, a testament to her determination and commitment to building a better future for herself and her son.
She leaves behind her precious one-year-old son, who will grow up knowing just how much his mother was loved and how fiercely she loved him.
As her mother shared through unimaginable heartbreak, losing a child is a pain no parent should ever have to endure. The family is now facing the days ahead with heavy hearts, trying to navigate this profound loss.
During this incredibly difficult time, Cierra’s family is not only grieving but also facing the unexpected financial burden of funeral and burial expenses. The funds raised will help cover these expenses and also support her son Remi’s future needs.
We are asking for your support to help ease this burden. Any contribution—no matter the amount—will go directly toward honoring Cierra’s life and providing her with a proper and dignified farewell.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping the family in your thoughts and prayers.
In a moment when words fall short, your kindness, support, and love mean more than ever.
Thank you for standing with this family during such a painful time.
