Tragically, our nephew, Christopher (age 9) and niece, Faith (age 7) unexpectedly lost their mother, Elizabeth Laughlin, on February 21, 2020. Within the past 2 1/2 years they have also lost two half-siblings to cystic fibrosis and their grandma. Needless to say, Christopher and Faith are devastated by the magnitude of their losses, as are Liz’s family and ours.

Their dad, Brian Miller, is our youngest brother. Although he and Liz were no longer a couple, they still lived together in order to co-parent their kids and for financial reasons. Brian works full-time at a local gas station. With Liz's passing, Brian is faced with new child care and transportation needs (including a car that is in need of extensive engine work.) This GoFundMe has been established to help meet the financial costs associated with these child care and transportation needs.  

Christopher is in the 4th grade. He loves to play on the computer, go on swings, give great big hugs and has autism. Given his disability, extra considerations need to be made when making child care arrangements, which adds another layer to the challenges ahead for Brian and our family.

Faith is in the 1st grade. She is a sweet, shy and sensitive little girl. She loves to create art, build, outdoor play, dinosaurs and dogs.
