December 8th, 2025 UPDATE
Chris and family are currently at the hospital with Julie. There has been a steady daily decline, and her time with us is becoming heartbreakingly limited. The barbershop will remain closed until further notice so Chris can be by her side.
This has been an incredibly painful and emotional time for their family. We have decided to reopen this GoFundMe to continue supporting the Bourgon family as they navigate the days ahead. Your generosity, love, and prayers mean more than words can express.
Thank you for standing with Chris, Julie, and their family during this unimaginable time.

Our community knows Chris Bourgon as more than just a skilled barber (Gilles' 3rd Gen Barbershop in Glen Walter, ON) — he’s a kind, generous, and familiar face who has been serving South Glengarry for years. Now, Chris and his family need our support.
Chris has made the difficult decision to temporarily close his barbershop so he can focus full-time on caring for his wife, Julie, who is facing serious medical challenges. This is a time of deep uncertainty and stress for the family.
We’re asking friends, neighbours, and anyone who knows Chris and his family to consider donating. Any amount will help ease the burden, covering everyday expenses, medical travel, and lost income, so Chris can be where he’s needed most.
Let’s show this incredible family that they’re not alone. Your kindness and support will make a real difference.
Update from Chris – July 7
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to share a quick update and say thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Julie is doing much better today. Her pneumonia is improving, and her liver function seems to be responding well to the antibiotics. If things continue in this direction, she’ll be coming home soon.
She’ll still need care, so I’ll be staying off work to help her during recovery. But this bit of good news has lifted our spirits.
We are beyond grateful for all of your kindness — the messages, the support, and the donations have meant more than I can say.

July 9, 2025 - A Message from Chris – Thank You
Hi everyone,
I’m honestly a little overwhelmed in the best way by the generosity and support that’s come in over the past few days. It’s hard to put into words how much this means to us.
Julie and I have been shown so much kindness, and while I’ve felt some guilt accepting help, I also know how lucky we are to be part of such a caring community. Your compassion is something we’ll never forget.
We feel truly blessed, grateful, and deeply thankful for every message, every donation, and every kind gesture. It’s helping us get through this, and we’ll never take it for granted.
Thank you all so much ! We’re incredibly touched.
Chris
