On June 27, 2025, the world lost one of its brightest lights when Jessica Fonseca Holt passed away. She died of cancer, but it was never what defined her.

She was a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, an auntie, a colleague, a soulmate, and the truest friend. If you brought her up to someone in conversation, the first response was always, “Oh, I love her!”

She treasured her co-workers and her friends, but her husband Brian, their children Charlie (almost 11) and Mila (almost 5), and the rest of her family were at the center of her world. She always ensured their lives were full of laughter and fun, whether she was hauling the kids to Portuguese school and other activities, organizing casual get-togethers that lasted well past bedtime, taking holiday trips to New Hampshire and Florida to spend time with family, or planning epic adventures for when her Brazilian family came to visit. Whatever she was doing, Jess had a magnetic energy that made everyone feel joy.

Even while facing her hardest days, Jess lifted up those around her. Now, as Brian, Charlie, and Mila begin to navigate a world without her, they need the love of family and friends to lift them up. Any funds raised in Jessica’s honor will be used for education and other needs Charlie and Mila will have as they grow up.

Jessica was the best — there’s simply no other way to say it. To know her and spend time with her was such a gift. Thank you for all of your love and support. It means so much to her loved ones.
