Support for Catrina's Final Journey
Donation protected
Edit: As many of you may already know, Catrina passed away peacefully at home on Thursday May 8th, 2025. I can't thank you enough to all who have contributed and I am keeping the process open for those who haven't that want to. The funds will still be used for the reasons listed in the original description below. I have reduced the goal amount in hopes it will be easier to reach as well as still be enough to handle everything needed.
My soulmate, my partner in everything, my princess, and my best friend. If you knew us together, you know exactly what she means to me. Catrina Phillips Mashburn has been a beacon of strength and support in my life, especially as we embarked on the journey of launching Pop's Brittle Company together. In October 2023, we officially started the business, fulfilling a long-held dream of mine. The dream was to take my late wife’s (of 5 years ago) father’s recipe and start the business in their honor. Catrina entered my life in the fall of 2022 resurrecting me from the ashes I was in from my first loss, and unselfishly embraced the vision and mission of our company wholeheartedly. My dream became her dream. She has been my backbone, cheerleader, and right-hand woman, pushing our business to where it is today. Her unwavering support and organizational skills have been invaluable, even as she preferred to work behind the scenes and let me be the face.
Tragically, Catrina was diagnosed with end-stage liver disease after a sudden decline in her health. Despite the efforts to find a transplant center, her condition worsened, and she was brought home on hospice care. We are now facing the heartbreaking reality of her limited time left with us. As her sole caregiver, I am seeking support to cover the loss of income from our business and to spend every precious moment I can with her. I also need proper time to grieve after she is gone. I have been through this experience before. The funds will also help with her final expenses, as she does not have life insurance.
Catrina's wish would be for Pop's Brittle Company to continue thriving. Any remaining funds will be reinvested into the business she dedicated countless hours to building. Your support will not only honor her legacy but also help me navigate this challenging time and keep her dream alive. Thank you so incredibly much in advance for your support!
