Support for Carsyn and Braedan's Healing Journey

Hello. If you have found yourself here it is because you're special to us. For those of you that don't know me I'm Connie's husband Chris. I don't really do social media. A lot of you that do know me know that I use Connie's Facebook kind of in the background...LOL.

On 6/3/25 our family suffered one of the biggest loss I think you probably can. Our daughter and son in law Carsyn and Braedan lost their unborn son. Carsyn went in that morning for a weekly checkup as she was about 2 weeks out from Rykers due date. She had felt the baby moving as she was getting ready for work. She got to work and opened her branch and then went to the doctors appointment. Upon getting to the appointment they found that there was no heartbeat. The doctor had her go to the hospital and we all tried to stay calm as we proceeded there.

Upon arrival we found out the news that Ryker was indeed gone. We were devistated, confused, and in disbelief. The kids are the best parents to their son Oliver. They had done everything right and if you know Carsyn she goes above and beyond in preparation. The kids had to still deliver Ryker, something that seems unthinkable. Needles to say he came into the world at 6:50pm. They got him cleaned up and the kids had some alone time to them. The rest of the family was able to come in and had the great opportunity to hold him and love on him. These were the hardest moments of all of our lives. Our kids Carsyn and Braedan were the strongest people I have ever seen at this moment. The way they handled the family and their own son Oliver in meeting Ryker was just purely amazing. To say that I am proud of who they are is an understatement.

As far as we can tell Ryker had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck. While this in itself isn't a horrible thing, the doctors are guessing that Carsyn went into active labor in the night and with the contractions the cord gets pulled and his blood supply was cut off. It is something that is truly out of anyones control.

Ryker was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I was so looking forward to meeting him. I am numb and don't know what to do. I have a whole in my heart that I don't know will ever heal. As a father I am so concerned for our kids. The battle to move on seems impossible. So in doing the only thing I as a father can do is try to fix something. Another thing that if you know me I am incredibly guilty of. Because of this I am here asking you all to help.

The kids got married last April. They never had a honeymoon. They didn't care to. They just wanted to focus on creating their family. As usual they accomplish what they set out to do. In October we found out they were pregnant with Ryker. It was the best news I ever could've imagined. We were all so excited. In the months to come we had to endure the loss of my father in law Rick. Its was very hard on the family. And now here we are dealing with the loss of a little angel. So I am asking if you can or are able to donate to give the kids some type of trip to let them go just the two of them to start to heal within themselves. This road for them is going to be a hard one.

I myself had a glimpse of it as I had to go to work the next day and could barely make it through. Between my own emotions getting the best of me and tears throughout the day, the immense texts of you all reaching out (which if I didn't text back I apologize as I just can't do it right now). I quickly realized that for them this is going to be so hard to navigate. You all have been asking if anything is needed and this is something that I believe the kids need. Time to go and get away and have a chance at healing together. So if you can please do so.

Thank you for all the love and support!

Sincerely, Chris Waldfogel
